Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters, accommodating motors up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Ensure to confirm if the motor runs on 1-phase or 3-phase power and select a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. Next, determine the control power used to close the contactor and select the overload by choosing a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include the type of incoming power—either "direct-online starter" when line power is also used for control, or "separate control voltage" when the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation through an external switch, options include adding terminals for "remote start terminals" or a combination of "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are utilized. This product features an 80 A, 3-phase direct online reset button, a 250-500 V AC/DC coil, and a 75-87 A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
