Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of your motor. Select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for selection include whether the incoming power will be used as control power (direct-online starter), if the control voltage differs from the line voltage (separate control voltage), or if remote start terminals are needed for activation from an external switch. Key features include an 80A 3-phase separate coil voltage, remote start terminals for start/stop, a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and a 75-87A overload relay within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
