Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60HP or 80A, which include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, you must verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage supplied, as well as confirm whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA. Additionally, select the control power for closing the contactor and pick an overload relay that encompasses the motor’s FLA. The selection can be further refined based on various criteria including incoming power, control voltage, and activation method. Options available include a "direct-online starter" for line power used as control power, "separate control voltage" where the control voltage differs, and "remote start terminals" if activated by an external switch.
