Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the supplied input voltage and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA. The control power used to close the contactor must also be selected, along with an overload that contains the FLA range. The selection can be narrowed further based on optional criteria, such as incoming power configuration: a "direct-online starter" if the line power serves as the control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For external switch activation, "remote start terminals" can be added, assuming matching line and control voltages, or "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different voltages are utilized. Key features of the motor starter include an 80A rating, 3-phase operation, remote start terminals, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, a 65-78A overload relay, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
