Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage being supplied and confirm if the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor, and select the control power for closing the contactor. Determine the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the FLA identified. The optional selection criteria include incoming power types: "direct-online starter" for line power used as control power, and "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from line voltage. For activation via an external switch, "remote start terminals" can be added, assuming line and control voltages are the same, or designated as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" if different.
