Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A, which consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to check if it operates on single-phase or three-phase power, and choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. Furthermore, select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload based on a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power, whether it is a direct-online starter or requires separate control voltage, and the need for remote start terminals, which allow activation from an external switch. The starters feature an 80A capacity, operate on 3-phase power, include separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, provide start/stop functionality, accommodate a 250-500V AC/DC coil, and support an overload range of 48-60A while maintaining a NEMA 4X rating.
