Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. Confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, select the control power used to close the contactor and then choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. The options include incoming power configurations, such as "direct-online starter" if the line power is used as control power, "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage, and "remote start terminals" for activation from an external switch. The key features include an 80A 3-phase direct online design, reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 48-60A overload relay, all housed within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
