Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select an appropriate starter, users should refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage. It is essential to confirm whether the power supply is single-phase or three-phase. The selected starter must be rated for current (amps) higher than the motor's FLA. Users must also choose the control power for closing the contactor and select an overload relay that encompasses the FLA of the motor. Additional options include selecting the incoming power configuration: a direct-online starter where line power serves as control power, a separate control voltage system, or a configuration with remote start terminals for external activation.
