Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with a capacity of up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage being supplied, while confirming if the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. The starter must be rated for a current higher than the FLA of the motor. Selection criteria further include the control power needed to activate the contactor and the overload relay, which should encompass the FLA range. Options for the starter include the type of incoming power, with configurations for "direct-online starter," "separate control voltage," or "remote start terminals" if activation from an external switch is required.
