Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria for starter selection include incoming power, where line power may also serve as control power, referred to as a "direct-online starter," or when using a different control voltage, termed "separate control voltage." For activation from an external switch, "remote start terminals" are included to accept control power input, assuming line and control voltages are the same, while "separate control voltage + remote start terminals" applies when different voltages are utilized. The features of this motor starter include an 80A rating, 1-phase separate coil voltage, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 75-87A overload relay, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
