Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling motors up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Additional optional criteria include selecting incoming power as either a direct-online starter or separate control voltage. If the starter needs activation from an external switch, remote start terminals can be included. This specific model features an 80A 1-phase separate coil voltage with remote start terminals, a start/stop function, and a 100-250V AC/DC coil alongside a 57-68A overload capacity, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
