Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring to confirm whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the FLA of the motor. The optional criteria for selection include incoming power configurations, such as "direct-online starter" for the same line and control power, or "separate control voltage" for different voltages. If activating from an external switch, remote start terminals can be added, which assume that the line and control voltages are the same; if using different voltages, this arrangement is referred to as "separate control voltage + remote start terminals."
