Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter, verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage. Ensure the motor is single-phase or three-phase and choose a starter rated for current higher than the FLA. The control power must be selected to close the contactor, and the overload should be chosen from a current range that includes the FLA identified. The options for selection include: incoming power configuration, which can be a "direct-online starter" if the line power is also used as control power, or "separate control voltage" if they differ. For activation from an external switch, terminals can be added for control power inputs, referred to as "remote start terminals." The motor starter features include an 80A capacity, single-phase operation, direct online start capability, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, a 75-87A overload range, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
