Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed to handle up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your application, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage from the motor or equipment nameplate, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. The starter should be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Next, choose the control power for closing the contactor and select the overload by identifying a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional features of the motor starters include options for incoming power configuration as either a "Direct-On-Line Starter" if the line power serves as the control power, or as a "Separate Control Voltage" if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. Additionally, for activation from an external switch, "Remote Start Terminals" can be added, and if both different line power and control power voltages are needed, it is classified as "Separate Control Voltage + Remote Start Terminals." Specific attributes of the starter include an 80A rating, compatibility with 1-phase systems, Separate Control Voltage + Remote Start Terminals, a Start/Stop function, a 24-60V AC/DC coil, a 65-78A overload relay, and NEMA 4X polycarbonate construction.
