3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Plastic Adhesive DP8010 Blue is a two-part acrylic adhesive designed specifically to bond low surface energy plastics, including various grades of polypropylene, polyethylene, and thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), without requiring special surface preparation. This adhesive creates strong structural bonds without the need for treatments such as chemical etching, plasma, flame, or corona treatment; a simple cleaning with isopropanol to remove contaminants suffices. It also effectively bonds metals, ceramics, wood, and most plastics, exhibiting slight flexibility upon curing. The product is formulated with 8 mil spacer beads for optimal bond line spacing. As a professional-grade adhesive, it is ideal for multi-material assemblies, joining plastics to metals in sectors like electronics, transportation, and construction. It is engineered to resist humidity, water, corrosion, and a range of chemicals, making it durable and capable of replacing mechanical fasteners, screws, rivets, and spot welds in various applications.
