The SmartDrop™ XF is a top-of-the-line spectrophotometer capable of performing UV-Vis readings in the range of 200-800nm as well as fluorescence readings. It features predefined programs for nucleic acids, proteins, and various colorimetric assays. The patented motorized system gently stretches the sample column, allowing for three different path lengths and accurate readings of samples from 0.5 to 2.0L without dilution. An integrated fluorometer enhances the accuracy, sensitivity, and selectivity of nucleic acid quantitation, with a blue light channel at 460nm suitable for detecting dyes like PicoGreen and RiboGreen, as well as GFP and fluorescein. UV, green, and red channel models are available upon request. The SmartDrop™ series provides quick and easy quantification of small samples, eliminating the need for dilutions and yielding more accurate results. A full-color 7" touchscreen with icon-driven menus and preprogrammed protocols allows users to start quickly without the need for an external computer. Each unit is equipped with a quartz pedestal for sample placement, and the arm lowers to stretch the drop into a liquid column for spectral analysis. Concentrations and purity numbers for DNA, RNA, and proteins are displayed in seconds, with options to print, save to onboard memory, or export as an Excel file via USB. Each model includes an integrated printer, and for OD600 readings, a cuvette port and two optical glass cuvettes are included. Key features of the SmartDrop™ XF include full-spectrum absorbance scanning and calculations of 260/280 and 260/230 ratios, a long-life xenon lamp with precision monochromator, and auto-ranging path lengths of 0.05m.
