SmartDrop™ L Nano is an economical option for laboratories needing to determine nucleic acid and protein concentrations and purity of samples. The kit includes a SmartDrop™ L Nano spectrophotometer equipped with an LED light source and a silicon photocell sensor for readings at 260 and 280nm. The sample loading capacity ranges from 1.0 to 2.0µL, with results delivered in approximately 5 seconds. The integrated software automatically calculates and displays 260/280 ratios, providing a quick and easy quantification of small samples without the need for dilutions, ensuring more accurate results. It features a full color 7" touchscreen interface with icon-driven menus and preprogrammed protocols, enabling users to operate the device without an external computer. The unit has a quartz pedestal for placing a drop of the sample, and the arm lowers to stretch the drop into a liquid column of specified length for spectral analysis. Quantitative results for DNA, RNA, and protein concentrations, along with purity numbers, are displayed within seconds. The data can be printed, saved in the onboard memory, or exported via USB as an Excel file. Each model includes an integrated printer and a cuvette port with two optical glass cuvettes for OD600 readings. The SmartDrop™ L Nano has a fixed 0.5mm path length and is capable of detecting up to 2500ng/µL of dsDNA, making it ideal for basic DNA, RNA, and protein quantification and purity assessment.
