Hallowell® Hi-Tech® Starter Unit metal shelving with sway braces is specially designed for fast and easy assembly and installation. It is available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are fabricated from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel and feature roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends resistance welded to the underside, with welds spaced 3" on center to provide maximum strength. The sides are triple flanged to form a channel, and all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while all other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads up to 800 pounds.
