The Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving with sway braces is engineered for quick and efficient assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves tailored to fulfill specific shelving capacity needs. The heavy-duty adjustable shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and feature identification stamps on the top left corner. Class 1 shelves are made from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, showcasing roll-formed rectangular tubular-shaped front and rear edges with resistance-welded return bends on the underside. The welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, while the sides are triple-flanged to create a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity and durability. The top surface is equipped with punch-outs for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers from left to right for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads. These shelves can support uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
