Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving with sway braces is specially designed for fast and easy assembly and installation and is available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to meet your specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are fabricated from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends, which are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. The welds are spaced 3" on center to provide maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to ensure a rigid corner and enhance shelf strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers, front and back, for shelves measuring 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep, whereas all other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, making it suitable for uniformly distributed loads up to 800 pounds.
