Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving with sway braces is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves to accommodate specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are fabricated from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded, providing a rigid corner and additional strength to the shelf. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads. This shelving unit is suitable for uniformly distributed loads up to 800 pounds.
