Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving with sway braces is specifically engineered for rapid assembly and installation, offering both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves tailored to diverse shelving capacity needs. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are designed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are constructed from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with resistance welded return bends on the underside, ensuring maximum strength with welds spaced 3" on center. The sides are triple flanged to create a strong channel, while all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity. The top surface is punched for shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
