Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving with sway braces is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to meet various shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves feature formed ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are constructed from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, with roll formed rectangular tubular front and rear edges that have return bends, resistance welded to the underside for added strength. Welds are spaced 3" on center, maximizing durability. The sides are triple flanged to create a channel, and all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for enhanced rigidity. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide shelves with depths of 12", 15", 18", and 24", while other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Both front and rear surfaces are punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads. This shelving unit is suitable for uniformly distributed loads up to 800 pounds.
