The Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving with sway braces is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves to suit varying shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are made from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges reinforced with return bends and resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. The welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. Each corner is lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide by 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while other sizes are punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
