Hallowell® Hi-Tech® Starter Unit metal shelving with sway braces is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation. The kit includes open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves tailored to specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, with identification stamped on the top left corner. Class 1 shelves are fabricated from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel and feature roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends, resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center for maximum strength, while sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded for rigidity and added strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachments, and the tubular front edge is engineered to protect against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
