Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving with sway braces offers an efficient solution for quick assembly and installation. This shelving unit comes in both open and closed styles, with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves designed to accommodate various shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable medium-duty shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped in the top left corner for easy identification. Class 0 shelves are made from cold-rolled sheet steel and feature roll-formed, rectangular tubular front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside, ensuring maximum strength with welds spaced 3" on center. The sides are triple-flanged to create a channel, while all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for enhanced rigidity and additional strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers left to right on 1-1/2" centers for shelf sizes of 36" wide and 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep; other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Accessories can also be attached to the front and rear surfaces, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 400 pounds.
