Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving with sway braces is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles, and offers medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves to accommodate various shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable medium-duty shelves feature two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped in the top left corner for identification as Class 0 shelves, which are fabricated from cold-rolled sheet steel. Each shelf has roll-formed rectangular tubular-shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf, with welds spaced 3" on center for maximum strength. The sides are triple flanged to form a channel, while all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for adding accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to provide protection against impact loads. This shelving unit can support uniformly distributed loads of up to 400 pounds.
