Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving with sway braces is engineered for quick assembly and installation, featuring both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves to accommodate various shelving capacity needs. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are marked on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are constructed from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll formed rectangular tubular-shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside for added durability. Welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, while the triple flanged sides create a channel for stability. Additionally, all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for enhanced rigidity. The top surface is designed with punch holes for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. Both front and rear surfaces are also punched to accommodate accessories, and the tubular front edge is specifically designed to absorb impact loads. These shelves support uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
