Hallowell® Hi-Tech® Starter Unit metal shelving with sway braces is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation. It is available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable medium-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 0 shelves are fabricated from cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll-formed rectangular tubular-shaped front and rear edges with return bends, resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded, providing a rigid corner and additional strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers, front and back, for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves; other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads up to 400 pounds.
