Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving with sway braces is engineered for rapid assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to fulfill diverse shelving capacity needs. The adjustable heavy-duty shelves are designed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and feature identification stamps in the top left corner. Class 1 shelves are constructed from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, equipped with roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges and return bends that are resistance welded to the underside, ensuring maximum strength with welds spaced 3" on center. The sides incorporate triple flanging to create a channel, while all four corners are lapped and resistance welded to maintain structural integrity and enhance shelf strength. The top surface is punched for the attachment of shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. Both front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is specifically designed to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
