Hallowell® Hi-Tech free standing shelving is engineered for quick and straightforward assembly, available in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to accommodate various shelving capacity needs. The shelves are crafted from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring formed two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 2 shelves have roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside, with welds spaced 3" on center for optimal strength. The sides are triple flanged to create a channel, while all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers from left to right for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves; all other sizes are punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachments. The tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
