Hallowell® Hi-Tech® shelving is a robust shelving line engineered to meet the demands of most industrial applications while offering versatility for modern facilities. Each shelving unit is constructed from cold rolled sheet steel, ensuring durability and integrity for daily use over a lifetime. The Hi-Tech® open style free-standing shelving includes sway braces and features formed ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 1 shelves are made from heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, characterized by roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf, with welds spaced 3" on center for maximum strength. Sides are triple flanged to create a channel, and all corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity. The top surface is punched for the attachment of shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide shelves available in depths of 12", 15", 18", and 24", while all other sizes feature punching on 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are designed to accommodate accessory attachment. The tubular front edge protects against impact loads, enabling the shelving to handle uniformly distributed loads of up to 800 pounds.
