Hallowell® Hi-Tech free standing shelving is engineered for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves to accommodate various shelving capacity requirements. The shelving features two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and includes identification stamping on the top left corner. Class 2 shelves are constructed from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, with roll-formed rectangular tubular front and rear edges featuring return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. The welds are spaced 3" on center for maximum strength, and the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to enhance rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while all other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads, allowing for uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
