Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to accommodate specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable shelves are extra heavy duty, formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, and feature a stamped identification on the top left corner. Class 2 shelves are made from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, with roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges that have return bends resistance welded to the underside for added durability. Welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded for rigidity and additional strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers front and back for the 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads up to 1,200 pounds.
