Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable extra heavy duty shelves feature two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, with identification stamped on the top left corner. Class 2 shelves are constructed from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, possessing roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends, resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center for maximum strength, and the sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while all other sizes feature punches on 3" centers. Both front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
