Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for efficient assembly and installation, featuring options in both open and closed styles, with shelving capacities catering to medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty requirements. The adjustable shelves, classified as extra heavy-duty, are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and feature identification stamping on the top left corner. Class 2 shelves are made from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, incorporating roll-formed rectangular tubular shapes for the front and rear edges, with resistance welded return bends enhancing durability. Weld spacing at 3 inches on center ensures maximum strength, while the triple flanged sides create a robust channel. All corners are lapped and resistance welded for added strength. The top surface is pre-punched for shelf dividers, accommodating 1-1/2" centers for sizes of 36" wide by 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep, while other dimensions are punched on 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces have punch-outs for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads. This shelving system supports uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
