Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The extra heavy-duty adjustable shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 2 shelves are fabricated from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll-formed rectangular tubular-shaped front and rear edges with return bends resistance welded to the underside for added strength, with weld spacing of 3" on center. The sides are triple flanged to create a channel, and all four corners are lapped and resistance welded to ensure a rigid structure. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers at 1-1/2" centers front and back on shelves measuring 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep, while all other sizes are punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces also allow for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to provide protection against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
