Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is engineered for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles with options for medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves tailored to specific shelving capacity needs. The extra heavy duty adjustable shelves feature two formed ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, with identification stamped on the top left corner. Class 2 shelves are crafted from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, boasting roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside for added strength. Welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum durability, while the sides are triple flanged to create a channel and all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for a rigid and robust construction. The top surface is punched for the attachment of shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are similarly punched to accommodate accessories, and the tubular front edge is specifically designed to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
