Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, available in open and closed styles, with medium, heavy, and extra heavy-duty shelves tailored to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable extra heavy-duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edge and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 2 shelves are manufactured from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel featuring roll-formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends, resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center to maximize strength, while the sides are triple flanged to form a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to ensure a rigid structure, enhancing shelf strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers from left to right for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads. This shelving unit is capable of supporting uniformly distributed loads up to 1,200 pounds.
