Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, featuring both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to fulfill specific shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable extra heavy duty shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 2 shelves are constructed from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. Welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, while sides are triple flanged to create a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to enhance rigidity and add extra strength to the shelf. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads. The shelving units can support uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
