Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is specially designed for fast and easy assembly and installation. The shelving is available in open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to meet specific shelving capacity requirements. The extra heavy duty adjustable shelves feature formed ribs along the horizontal front and rear edge and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. Class 2 shelves are fabricated from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel and have roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends resistance welded to the underside to ensure maximum strength. Welds are spaced 3" on center, and the sides are triple flanged to form a channel, with all four corners lapped and resistance welded for enhanced durability. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide shelves and on 3" centers for all other sizes. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads up to 1,200 pounds.
