Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is engineered for rapid assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves tailored to meet diverse shelving capacity needs. The adjustable extra heavy duty shelves feature two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, with identification stamped in the top left corner. Class 2 shelves are constructed from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, showcasing roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf, with welds spaced at 3" centers for enhanced strength. The design includes triple flanged sides forming a channel, and all four corners are lapped and resistance welded for added rigidity and strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers at 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. Both the front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, while the tubular front edge protects against impact loads, accommodating uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
