Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and includes options for both open and closed styles, with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to accommodate varying capacity requirements. The adjustable shelves, particularly the extra heavy duty variant, feature two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped for identification in the top left corner. Class 2 shelves are made from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel and have roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends, resistant welded to the underside of the shelf with welds spaced 3" on center for enhanced strength. The sides are triple flanged to create a channel, and all corners are lapped and resistance welded for increased durability. The top surface is punched to allow for shelf dividers to be attached on 1-1/2" centers at the front and back for sizes 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep, while other dimensions are punched on 3" centers. Additionally, the front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to absorb impact loads. The shelving units can support uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
