Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is engineered for rapid assembly and installation, featuring both open and closed styles to accommodate various shelving capacity needs. The adjustable extra heavy duty shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, and they are stamped on the top left corner for easy identification. Class 2 shelves are made from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel and feature roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends, which are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf. The welds are spaced 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, while the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to provide a rigid corner, enhancing the shelf's overall strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for widths of 36" and depths of 12", 15", 18", and 24", with all other sizes punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads, allowing for uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds. The shelving system is built to meet rigorous standards and is suitable for a wide range of applications.
