Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is engineered for rapid assembly and installation, featuring both open and closed styles with options for medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to accommodate various shelving capacity needs. The extra heavy duty adjustable shelves are constructed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, and they are stamped on the top left corner for identification purposes. Class 2 shelves are made from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, with roll formed rectangular tubular front and rear edges featuring resistance welded return bends to enhance durability. The spacing of the welds is 3" on center to ensure maximum strength, and the sides are triple flanged to create a channel. Lapped corners are resistance welded for added structural integrity. The top surface is pre-punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, while all other sizes are punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads. This shelving system is capable of supporting uniformly distributed loads up to 1,200 pounds.
