Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is expertly crafted for quick assembly and installation, available in both open and closed styles, with shelves designed to accommodate medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelving capacity requirements. The adjustable extra heavy duty shelves feature a formation with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges and are stamped in the top left corner for easy identification. These Class 2 shelves are constructed from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, featuring roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges with return bends that are resistance welded to the underside of the shelf, with welds spaced 3" apart for enhanced strength. Sides are triple flanged to create a channel, with all four corners lapped and resistance welded to reinforce the structure and increase shelf durability. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers on 1-1/2" centers for shelves measuring 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep, while other sizes are punched on 3" centers. The front and rear surfaces are also punched for accessory attachment, and the tubular front edge is designed to shield against impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
