Hallowell® Hi-Tech® starter unit metal shelving is designed for fast and easy assembly and installation, offering both open and closed styles with medium, heavy, and extra heavy duty shelves to meet various shelving capacity requirements. The extra heavy duty adjustable shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edges, and feature a stamped identification on the top left corner. Class 2 shelves are fabricated from extra heavy gauge cold rolled sheet steel, with roll formed rectangular tubular shaped front and rear edges that include return bends, resistance welded to the underside for strength. Welds are spaced 3" on center to enhance durability, while sides are triple flanged to form a channel. Each corner is lapped and resistance welded for added strength. The top surface is punched for attaching shelf dividers from left to right on 1-1/2" centers for 36" wide x 12", 15", 18", and 24" deep shelves, with other sizes punched on 3" centers. Front and rear surfaces are also punched for attaching accessories, and the tubular front edge is designed to withstand impact loads, supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 1,200 pounds.
