Built with sturdy 18-gauge (1-mm) thick steel double-wall construction, it includes 1.5 in (38 mm) of insulating air space for enhanced fire resistance. The unit's fully welded, not riveted construction maintains squareness and minimizes air gaps for greater fire protection. High-performance, self-closing doors open to 140 degrees and feature a concealed self-close mechanism for unobstructed shelf access, with continuous piano hinges ensuring smooth closure. The self-closing doors are held open by fusible links that melt at 165°F (74°C), causing the doors to swing shut automatically in fire conditions. The self-latching system comprises three stainless steel bullet-slams positioned at the top, bottom, and center of the door. Each cabinet also includes an innovative U-Loc™ handle which does not require manual rotation for engagement and comes with a cylinder lock and key set or the option to use a padlock. Additionally, trilingual Haz-Alert™ reflective warning labels that read "Flammable Keep Fire Away" are prominently displayed for visibility in fire situations or power outages when illuminated with a flashlight.
