Scotch-Brite™ General Purpose Hand Pad 7447 is a flexible and effective abrasive pad designed for tough cleaning jobs and fine finishing results. It features very fine grade aluminum oxide abrasives that cut fast and fine, leaving a smooth, finished surface. The 6 x 9" maroon pad is suitable for use on a wide variety of materials and tasks, comparable in performance to steel wool grade 1 without the drawbacks of shredding, rusting, or creating metal splinters. Its non-woven, open-web material resists loading and can be used dry, with water or solvents, and rinsed clean for reuse. It can be used by hand for precise control, with a hand pad block for uniform finishing, or on an in-line sander for larger areas. Made from aluminum oxide abrasive, a tough, durable mineral that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, the pad maintains high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it suitable for both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
