OHAUS Guardian 3000 hotplate stirrers are designed for economical heating and stirring in laboratory settings and include a bright backlit LCD display showing temperature and speed settings with intuitive icons, a prominent hot top indicator light that activates above 40° C, and green indicator lights for heating and stirring status. The units operate with stirring speeds from 80 to 1600 rpm and accommodate ambient temperatures from +5° C to 500° C for ceramic tops or up to 380° C for ceramic-coated steel tops. They feature durable metal housings with PET front panels, control knobs, an on/off switch for heater disconnect, built-in support rod holders, and easy-to-clean ceramic or ceramic-coated stainless steel tops. Stirring models include a PTFE-coated stir bar, and all models support an optional temperature probe for precise sample temperature control via a temperature probe connector. The kits come with a power cord and offer single-point calibration capability. Applications include boiling liquids, preparing water/oil baths, sample and solution preparation, dissolving buffers and reagents, media preparation, and sample concentration.
